Precision Metabolic™

Insulin sensitivity, glucose balance, and metabolic resilience.

Metabolic health is the silent driver behind almost everything we care about in longevity. Energy levels, body composition, cardiovascular wellness, cognitive function, even hormonal balance - all of these are downstream of how well your body manages insulin and glucose.

Who it's for

This stack is designed for someone actively seeking to optimise their precision metabolic. If this resonates with where you are right now, this is your starting point.

Insulin Sensitivity, Glucose Balance, and Metabolic Resilience

Who Is This For?

This stack is designed for someone actively seeking to optimise their precision metabolic. If this resonates with where you are right now, this is your starting point.

The Story

Metabolic health is the silent driver behind almost everything we care about in longevity. Energy levels, body composition, cardiovascular wellness, cognitive function, even hormonal balance—all of these are downstream of how well your body manages insulin and glucose. Here’s the number that matters: insulin resistance can be developing for a decade before blood sugar numbers look abnormal on a standard test. By the time fasting glucose is elevated, the metabolic machinery has been struggling for years. The earlier we support these pathways, the more leverage we have. Berberine activates AMPK—the same metabolic pathway as metformin. R-alpha-lipoic acid is the only antioxidant that’s both water- and fat-soluble, protecting every cellular compartment while supporting insulin sensitivity. Together, they address the metabolic picture from multiple angles simultaneously. Precision Metabolic is built for the person who wants to get ahead of metabolic drift—not wait until numbers are already out of range.

The Evidence: Why Each Ingredient Is Here

Below is a summary of the research supporting each component. We’ve included formal citations so you can dig deeper if you want to.

Berberine 1g/day (500mg BID)

Umbrella meta-analysis: berberine significantly reduces fasting blood glucose, HbA1c, HOMA-IR, fasting insulin, IL-6, TNF-α, and CRP—with meaningful effect sizes across all markers. In a prediabetes-specific RCT, 12 weeks of berberine brought fasting plasma glucose from the pre-range back below threshold. Mechanism: AMPK activation and KCNH6 potassium channel modulation driving glucose-dependent insulin secretion—the ‘glucose-dependent’ part is important because it means the effect scales with need.

R-Alpha-Lipoic Acid 300mg

Meta-analysis of 41 RCTs: ALA significantly reduces fasting blood sugar, HbA1c, TNF-α, IL-6, and CRP. What makes it unique: it’s both water- and fat-soluble, so it can work in every cellular compartment. The R-form is the naturally occurring, more bioactive isomer with superior mitochondrial uptake.

Myo-Inositol 2g

Network meta-analysis: myo-inositol + D-chiro-inositol demonstrated superior HOMA-IR reduction vs metformin alone and best results for menstrual recovery in PCOS. Myo-inositol acts as an insulin second messenger, restoring post-receptor insulin signalling. Relevant beyond PCOS—useful for anyone with insulin sensitivity concerns and hormonal considerations.

Important Considerations

Before starting any new supplement, please review these clinical considerations. If you’re on prescription medications, share this page with your healthcare provider.

Berberine

If you are on metformin or other blood sugar-supporting medications, the combination can produce additive effects—monitor and share with your physician. If you are on statin medications, berberine may affect levels through a shared liver enzyme pathway. If you are on blood-thinning medications, share with your physician. Always take with food, and start with one capsule per day for the first week before moving to twice daily.

R-Alpha-Lipoic Acid

Best taken on an empty stomach. If you are on thyroid medication (levothyroxine), take ALA at least 2 hours apart. ALA also has mild chelating properties—take 2 hours away from mineral supplements such as iron, zinc, or magnesium.

Myo-Inositol

Generally very well tolerated with an excellent safety profile. Mild digestive effects (soft stools) are possible at higher doses. If you are pregnant or trying to conceive, share this with your healthcare provider.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon will this affect my blood sugar levels?

Berberine studies show measurable changes in fasting glucose and HbA1c within 8-12 weeks. R-alpha-lipoic acid effects on glucose metabolism appear within 4-6 weeks. But here’s the important part: we’re not treating a disease state; we’re supporting metabolic function. If your numbers are already elevated, monitor with your healthcare provider. If you’re trying to prevent drift, patience is the virtue—3 months of consistent use is the realistic timeline.

Can I take this if I’m already on metformin?

This is a physician conversation. Berberine and metformin work through overlapping pathways and can have additive effects on blood glucose. This isn’t necessarily a problem—some research suggests the combination is actually beneficial. But it requires monitoring and medical oversight. Please share this formula with your prescribing doctor before starting.

I have PCOS. Is the inositol dose enough?

The 2g myo-inositol in this formula is a solid supportive dose. Some PCOS protocols use higher amounts (4-8g/day), particularly in combination with D-chiro-inositol. If you have PCOS specifically, this may be a starting point, with the option to add our Precision Inositol™ powder for higher dosing. Discuss the right approach with your healthcare provider.

What if I take this and my blood sugar drops too low?

If you’re on blood sugar-lowering medications and add a metabolic support formula, hypoglycemia is a real possibility. This is exactly why medical oversight matters. If you’re on medication, work with your physician. They may need to adjust your medication doses as your insulin sensitivity improves. Monitor your glucose regularly if you’re on prescription blood sugar medications.
